I have two more days left of maternity leave, where the hell did time go? I remember leaving work last Spring thinking I was free, for what felt like forever.
However, since becoming a mother there are three words which have become my life’s motto: NOTHING IS FOREVER.

It’s a fact. Positive and negative, take it as you want. Nothing is forever.
You could look at it on a deeper level and acknowledge that everything moves on in life, nothing stays the same; our loved ones, our children, our career and our home. Everything is constantly evolving. We all move on.

But also learn to embrace. Embrace the stresses, for without lows we wouldn’t appreciate the highs. Embrace your frantic life, because there will come a point where it is calm and still. And embrace the tiny baby in your arms before you forget they were ever that small, because you will, believe me!

So the next time your irrational side starts dancing in your head let your cool conscious take over and utter the three magic words: NOTHING IS FOREVER. And no matter what it is, relax and take a deep breath. Have faith, because in the words of Sam Cooke; “change is gonna come”. Life is about change, sometimes it’s painful, sometimes it’s beautiful. But most of the time, it’s both.
